Siam University (SU), one of the forefront private comprehensive universities in Thailand, has been dedicated to become a “Leading Institution Creating Innovation for Sustainable Future”. It is our commitment to take a responsible role in driving sustainability in both our campus and communities, especially those in South-West Bangkok. Our “Sustainable University, Sustainable District” policy has been participated by “SU family”. The University has carried on our missions to provide quality education to produce graduates with academic excellence, high professional skills and sound ethical principles. We have promoted academic, research, and social engagement with networks and partners from public, private and communities. Our hard work and strong collaborations have given benefit to our missions as one can see that SU is now recognized locally and globally.

Siam University (SU), a leading private comprehensive university, celebrated our 50 years of excellent education services in 2023. We started our journey by setting up the first 3-year Thai private engineering school in 1965 before we were upgraded to “Siam Technical College” with the authorization to grant degrees in 1973 and “Siam Technical University”, a full-fledged higher educational institution on September 5, 1986.  Three years later, the name was changed to the present “Siam University” to show its diversity in fields of study.

To celebrate our 50th year, Siam University participated in the “Reinventing University” initiative of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) and became the only private university approved in Strategic Group 2 “Technology and Innovation.” The group aims to develop new technology and innovation to respond to Thailand’s demands by focusing on inventing start-up groups and working with industry to develop new technology that will lead to the country’s social, economic, and industrial development. Our reinventing plan emphasizes digital transformation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.

At present, Siam University offers a variety of undergraduate, graduate, and lifelong education programs. We offer 46 programs, both at undergraduate and graduate levels, in 14 faculties and colleges, covering the fields of science and technology, health science, social sciences and humanities – Engineering, Science, , Nursing, Pharmacy, Medicine (with a major in Public Health), Dentistry, Business Administration, Communication Arts, Liberal Arts, Law, Public Administration, Political Sciences, Information Technology, Educational Administration and Leadership, and Superstar Academy, including international college in international business management. Next year, we plan to offer a degree program in the Faculty of Optometry.

Internationally, a Global Academy has just opened at Siam University to provide a unique Two Degree study program with our partners La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia and University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada in the fields of computer science and information technology, business. Starting January 2025, another program will be offered – hospitality.

For 50 years, the University has carried on our missions to respond to the need of the country in providing quality education. We have become one of the largest private universities with a student body presently containing around 10,000 students from countries around the world.

Setting and Infrastructure of Siam University

Siam University has only one campus setting in an urban area. Total campus area is 78,160 m2. Total area on the campus covered in forest vegetation is 8,758.16 m2 (11.21% of total area). This year we have expanded our planted vegetation area to cover the Healthy Space and Learning Garden, Siam University besides the 5Rai area which will be our future SEP Learning space. Hence the total area on the campus covered in planted vegetation   is now 34,016.99 m2 (43.52% of total area). Furthermore, total area on the campus for water absorption besides forest and planted vegetation is approximately 25,012.51 m2 (32% of total area).
